Gift Opportunities

Giving That Sustains Our Parish

Your generosity supports the mission and ministries of our parish in many meaningful ways. Whether supporting the day-to-day life of the parish through tithing, caring for our facilities through the maintenance fund, investing in the future through the endowment fund, or helping serve those in need through our outreach ministries, each gift plays an important role in the life of our parish. We invite you to prayerfully consider the opportunities below and how you might participate in the mission God has entrusted to our parish.

Church Offering (Tithing)

A parish family’s church offering is St. Vincent de Paul Parish’s primary source of income and should be a family’s highest priority when deciding how to support the parish financially. Your tithe supports the daily operations of the church and school including staff salaries, utilities, office supplies, insurance, administrative costs and ministry programs. Without steady and growing weekly sacrificial giving, our parish could not operate. More than a financial commitment, tithing is a spiritual practice that reflects gratitude to God and active participation in the mission of the Church. We encourage you to consider 5% of your family’s gross income as a tithe to the parish.

Holy Days & Special Collections

A tithe during Holy Days of Obligation helps support additional Masses and parish needs during times of increased attendance. Throughout the year, the parish also participates in Archdiocesan Special Collections, supporting causes such as Catholic Charities, Home and Foreign Missions, Seminary, Black and Indian Missions, the Retirement Fund for Religious, and more.

Endowment Funds

St. Vincent de Paul Parish maintains two endowment funds:

  • Parish Endowment Fund – Supports parish ministries, faith formation and religious education.
  • Educational Endowment Fund – Supports the long-term needs of the school, including staff support and program sustainability.

These funds are long-term investments designed to generate income in perpetuity and are overseen by a parish committee appointed by the Pastor.

Maintenance

The Building and Maintenance Fund supports the upkeep, repair and improvement of all parish facilities. While a portion of the St. Vincent Fund is allocated to maintenance each year, families may contribute directly to this fund at any time.

The St. Vincent Fund

The St. Vincent Fund is the parish’s annual appeal that supports critical needs beyond daily operations. Gifts to this fund help build a yearly reserve dedicated to capital improvements, building maintenance, and parish and school endowments. Each year, parish families receive information about the designated projects and are invited to participate in supporting the parish’s long-term vitality.

Outreach Ministries

Following in the footsteps of our patron saint, St. Vincent de Paul, we strive to emulate his dedication to service with outreach ministries serving those in need locally and globally. These efforts include partnerships such as Tanzania mission support and the Divine Mercy Food Pantry, which provides food assistance and referrals while honoring the dignity of those served. Volunteer opportunities are also available.

Children’s Courtyard Engraving

Your children’s names can be engraved in stone in the Children’s Courtyard at the front of our church building. Enrollments open in the spring and engravings will take place in the fall.

“Our Lady of Life” Memorial Engraving

Deceased or living memorials are a beautiful way to honor a loved one’s anniversary, special occasion or death. Their name will be engraved on granite markers at the foot of the Lady of Life statue near the church entrance off Eagle Run Drive. Enrollments open in the spring and engravings will take place in the fall.

Perpetual Mass Society

One Mass on the first Friday of every month at SVdP is dedicated to honoring and praying for our deceased loved ones. Names of deceased loved ones are also engraved on the Perpetual Mass Society plaque located just outside the Lady Chapel. If you would like more information on enrolling a loved one in the Perpetual Mass Society, please contact the parish office at parishoffice@svdpomaha.org.
