Mass Intentions

The offering of Mass intentions is a meaningful way for the faithful to pray for the living and the deceased. When a Mass is offered for a particular intention, the whole Church joins in prayer, asking God to grant grace, healing and peace according to His will.

What Is a Mass Intention?

A Mass intention is a specific prayer request offered during the celebration of the Holy Mass. Intentions may be requested:

  • In memory of a deceased loved one.
  • In honor of a special occasion.
  • For the health and well-being of someone who is ill.
  • In thanksgiving for blessings received.
  • For special needs or intentions.

Guidelines for Mass Intentions

Due to the huge volume of requests, Mass Intentions are limited to:

  • A maximum of two intentions per individual per month, and these intentions cannot be scheduled in the same week.
  • A maximum of two weekend Masses per individual per year.

Requesting a Mass Intention

Mass Intention requests are accepted throughout the year and are honored on a first-come, first-serve basis—scheduled upon availability. Parishioners may request Mass Intentions by contacting Amanda Marx at marxa@svdpomaha.org or 402-496-7988.

We request a customary offering of $10 per Mass Intention. Mass Intentions will be confirmed upon receive of payment. Payment can be made via cash or check.
