Outreach Committees

To ensure we maintain coordinated outreach efforts, SVdP has established committees so we can better serve those in need locally and internationally.

Outreach Ministry Council

The mission of the St. Vincent de Paul Outreach Ministry Council is to provide oversight and a prayerful thoughtful approach as we serve in solidarity those in need regardless of boundaries or economic status. The Council is comprised of individuals from the Divine Mercy Pantry, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Tanzania Outreach Committee, SVdP Guild, Knights of Columbus, Respect Life Committee and Crafters for Charity, as well as ad hoc members.

Additionally, the Council builds and sustains relationships with local agencies who directly help lose in need. The Council oversees parish financial support to these partner agencies, while identifying and promoting the spiritual development of SVdP parishioners by providing education, discernment and service opportunities. If you have any questions, please contact Kelly Anderson at andersonk@svdpomaha.org.

Learn more about our partner agencies and explore volunteer opportunities they provide.

Outreach ministry in action
Lighano Seminarians

Tanzania Outreach Committee

The SVdP Tanzania Outreach Committee promotes an ongoing partnership between the Archdiocese of Songea in Tanzania and St. Vincent de Paul Parish. Our parish supports the Lighano Minor Seminary, which is located in the Archdiocese of Songea. The committee meets monthly to discuss the needs of the seminary, fundraising opportunities, prayer and cultural exchange. Each February, the committee hosts a vastly attended Trivia Night fundraising event.

Parishioners can get involved through prayer for our partnership and mission, helping with and attending events. To learn more please contact the committee at mcmahanj@svdpomaha.org.
