All adults that volunteer in the name of our parish must be Safe Environment Certified. This includes volunteering in the school, religious formation, youth ministry programs, sports athletics, Divine Mercy Pantry, Knights of Columbus and as an EMHC to the care facilities and homebound parishioners, as well as other activities that involve minors or vulnerable adults. More information can be found at the Archdiocese of Omaha.
In 2002, the USCCB created the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People. This charter mandates that all adults who interact with children and vulnerable adults in the name of the Church are required to become Safe Environment Certified. The Archdiocese of Omaha requires this mandate be implemented. You may attend Safe Environment Certification training anywhere within the Archdiocese.
If already certified, see instructions for recertification. If you have any questions or concerns, contact Kelly Anderson, Pastoral Minister, at andersonk@svdpomaha.org.
