Religious Formation

The Religious Formation Program at St. Vincent de Paul desires to help the faithful of all ages by providing meaningful Catholic formation and spiritual programs.

Our program is built upon the regular practice of the faith by the family. We support parents, the primary religious formation educators, in the spiritual development of their children. By incorporating prayer, fellowship, service and teaching, we hope to nurture and support a deep, growing, personal relationship with Jesus and His Church.

What is Religious Formation?

We recognize and support that parents hold the primary responsibility for their children’s religious formation. Our Religious Formation program will creatively assist in this obligation. We encourage parents to be a strong role model with a lived faith commitment and meaningful prayer life.

As a dedicated faith community, the St. Vincent de Paul Religious Formation Program is committed to providing quality lifelong formation for all members of our parish.  Through Religious Formation, we will strive to develop a deep understanding of prayer and worship and its relevance in our lives. In the spirit of our patron, we will witness to and serve the needs of those in need.

Programs We Offer

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

Ages 3-6

The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is rooted in the bible, the liturgy of the Church and the educational principles of Maria Montessori. Children gather in an ‘Atrium’, a room prepared for them, which contains simple yet beautiful materials that they use as tools in order to encounter the Good Shepherd.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word

Ages 4 to Kindergarten

During the 9 a.m. Sunday Mass throughout the school year, all children are invited to the Our Lady Chapel to hear age-appropriate Scripture readings, reflections and prayers of the faithful.

Grades 1st to 8th & OCIC

Grades 1-8

Religious Formation is for children who attend a public school or non-Catholic private school for grades 1-8. We provide both In-Person Classes or Home Program. Preparation for the reception of the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation for all children is also part of the program. For any child 7 to 18 years old in need of Baptism or other Sacraments, we offer Order of Christian Initiation of Children (OCIC).

Totus Tuus

Incoming 1st to 12th Grade

Totus Tuus is a week-long summer Catholic youth program dedicated to sharing the Gospel and promoting the Catholic faith through evangelization, catechesis, Christian witness and Eucharistic worship.
