Children’s Liturgy of the Word

We offer Children’s Liturgy of the Word at the Sunday 9 a.m. Mass during the school year. All children ages 4 through Kindergarten grade are invited to participate. To sign up your child, please stop by the Children’s Liturgy table before Mass.

What is Children’s Liturgy of the Word?

We will have signups before and after 9am Mass on October 4. Children’s Liturgy starts October 11

Before the first reading, children are invited to participate and dismissed to the Our Lady Chapel, located on the east side of the narthex (or Church entrance). There, the children are read the same Scripture readings, which have been altered to be age appropriate. Following the readings is reflection and prayers of the faithful. The children will return to their parents in Church at the presentation of the gifts.

There is no cost for registration. There is, however, a requirement that all participants wear a NAME TAG that will include their name and emergency contact information should the need arise. Our leaders have completed the Safe Environment Certification training required by the diocese.

Each week, please have your child pick up her/his name tag from the Children’s Liturgy of the Word table. Then, BEFORE the children return to you in Church, we will gather the name tags and keep for the next week. The name tags should not go home.
