Anointing of the Sick

The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick extends the healing of Jesus Christ for those who are ill and are suffering.

This ministry of healing is extended to priests who share in the healing mission of Jesus Christ. This sacrament is given to those who are seriously ill, who may be undergoing serious surgery, or in great need of God’s healing in their lives. There is no need to wait until a person is at the point of death to receive this sacrament. If it is possible, the Sacrament of Reconciliation precedes this sacrament and is followed by the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist.

If you or a family member wish to be anointed, please contact the parish office at 402-496-7988.

*Historically, our office would call hospitals to ask if anyone from SVdP has been admitted and given consent to notifying their place of worship. Due to a new HIPAA policy, hospitals are not allowed to share whether a SVdP parishioner has been admitted. Please let us know when you or a loved one has been admitted to the hospital, so we can include you in prayer or provide sacraments.
