Eucharist

The Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian Life. At Mass, the bread and wine are changed into the total Jesus Christ, body and blood, soul and divinity.

Holy Communion unites us intimately with Jesus Christ, separates us from sin and unites us with other members of the Catholic Church. Catholics normally receive the Holy Eucharist at Mass unless they need to go to Reconciliation to seek forgiveness of their serious sins.

First Eucharist

The Sacrament of First Eucharist is a joyful and sacred milestone in the life of a Catholic. In this sacrament, children receive the Eucharist for the first time, encountering Jesus Christ’s true presence in the body and blood in Holy Communion. Children who were baptized Catholic normally receive this sacrament in the second grade.
