Habitat for Humanity

(June to September)
St. Vincent de Paul has been a member of the Faith House Coalition since 2010. The coalition is made up of area churches and Temple Israel which pool their resources to build a home selected by Habitat.

This year the coalition is building a house at 3167 Evans St.  The home is for Ndarusangiyabandi, her daughter Mbaliwombazi and granddaughter Lydia. Construction starts June 8 and will conclude the last part of September.  The work day is from 8:30am to 3:30pm. There will be a Habitat for Humanity Construction Coordinator on site at all times during construction. Once you sign up, you will receive information from Habitat.

FIVE different ways you can volunteer!

  • Volunteer for construction of the house - skilled and unskilled laborers are needed! No prior building experience is necessary.  Must be 16 years of age to work on the construction of the house.
  • Volunteer to provide food for workers
  • In-kind donations are needed (Either professional skills or building materials.)  Items and skills needed are:  drywall, cabinets, gutters, plumbing, carpet, flooring and landscaping.  All in-kind items need to be approved by Habitat.  If you have any of these items or skills to donate, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
  • Cash donations in any amount are welcome!  Make a check payable to Habitat for Humanity Omaha and put "Faith House Build 2019" in the memo.  Checks can be mailed to or dropped off at the Parish Offfice.
  • Last but not least, pray for the success of the project!
