Bethlehem House

Bethlehem House, located at 15th& Martha St. in the former convent at St. Patrick’s, is a 12-bedroom home that provides loving guidance and support for women (19 & older) choosing life for their unborn child in a Catholic, residential environment both during and after pregnancy. 2016 marks the 11th year of service for Bethlehem House.

Family Life and Aftercare programs educate each woman on childcare and personal life skills, setting them on a path to self-sufficiency. In this home, they strive to recognize and uphold the dignity of the human person, exemplify a supportive and strong family, and foster an environment of mercy and hope. The love and compassion is abundant in this family environment…an environment many of the women who come through these doors have never experienced.

There are numerous volunteer committees that play an integral role inthe services provided to the women and their children, such as mentoring, new resident guest support, men’s guild and teen advisor board (to area high schools and youth groups). In 2014, SVdP Outreach adopted and renovated one of the rooms on behalf of SVdP Parish and continues to maintain the room

Bethlem House also operates a secondhand boutique & community space called The Humble Lily at 90th & Center (NW corner). Proceeds from The Humble Lily help to provide financial support to the mission as they work to educate women to achieve economic self-sufficiency while restoring hope, reuniting families, and building community. Please consider donating new & gently used women’s/children’s clothing, accessories, home goods & décor. We encourage you to visit their website at to learn more about how to donate to/volunteer for the Bethlehem House and/or The Humble Lily.
