Our Junior High Youth Formation serves students in 7th and 8th grade, inviting them to participate in conferences, monthly youth group nights, and other formation opportunities throughout the year. These experiences are intentionally designed to foster a meaningful encounter with Jesus Christ and to cultivate strong, faith-centered friendships rooted in Him.
This youth group program is on a Saturday evening once a month from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The purpose of these evenings is to help junior high students encounter Christ in a way that makes sense for their age and provide a safe, fun space where they can build friendships rooted in Christ. These evenings meet the unique needs of middle schoolers and their big questions about the faith, introduction to different forms of prayers, and discussion on belonging and identity.
The structure of Junior High Nights includes a welcome, icebreakers, games, dinner, followed by faith formation. During the formation part of the evening, students engage in talks, videos or teachings on a faith topic. They are divided into small groups to discuss the night’s topic and then are brought back together for the final prayer. There are about 40-60 middle schoolers that attend our Junior High Nights, and we have adult and high-school leaders that assist.
We are always looking for adults/ parents to help with these nights. If you are interested in learning more about what this entails, please email Selena at thompsons@svdpomaha.org.
Time: 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 pm.
Dates: January 24, February 28, March 28, April 18

Steubenville is a high-energy youth conference where teens are invited to encounter Jesus Christ through dynamic speakers, engaging music, the Sacraments, small group discussions and fellowship with other teens.
We will have our parish fundraiser the weekend of February 28/March 1. We will distribute these funds equally across all participants and chaperones. We anticipate the cost per person to be reduced $50-$100 after our fundraiser (before the final payment is due). If you require additional financial help, please contact Selena Thompson at thompsons@svdpomaha.org for scholarship and fundraising options.
